This study aimed to determine students’ alternative concepts on the material of the human circulation system. The sample of this research was the students of class X and XI at SMA Tri Dharma Palembang. The number of samples involved in this study amounted to 130 students. The sample was chosen by students who had not received the circulation system material in their class so that students’ alternative concepts were obtained as much as possible about the material being tested. The research instrument used was an open-ended question, which consists of 13 questions. The development of this research instrument was carried out by conducting material analysis and studies on the results of previous studies related to this research. Data collection was done using the Google Form application by providing a question link to students. The results of this study indicate the diversity of students’ alternative concepts on various concepts in the circulation system material. Students have shown the correct understanding of concepts on several questions, but students still find alternative concepts on these questions. This description of the student’s alternative concept can then be used as a basis for developing diagnostic test instruments on the circulation system material so that it is expected to help the student learning process in the classroom to be more effective.
