Numeracy is one of the components measured in the Minimum Competency Assessment. It refers to an individual’s skill in applying mathematical concepts and knowledge to solve daily-life problems in various contexts relevant to them as a country’s and the world’s citizens. This descriptive qualitative study aimed to describe junior high school students’ numeracy skills in solving Minimum Competence Assessment’s numeracy questions, particularly geometry and measurement. Participants were 219 seventh-grade students in Surakarta. A geometry test was employed as the study instrument. The result indicated that students’ numeracy skills in geometry and measurement content fell under the category of ’require special intervention.’ However, their students’ aspects of socio-cultural context and cognitive level of ’knowing’ were categorized as competent. Thus, improving the learning process by focusing more on students’ numeracy skill enhancement is necessary.
