This study aims to describe the profile of the mathematical communication ability of state junior high school students in Parigi Regency in terms of student gender and school accreditation. This type of research is ex post facto research using a quantitative approach. The population for this study was all students for the 2021/2022 school year at Public Middle Schools in Parigi Regency, totaling 553 people, including SMPN 1, SMPN 2, SMPN 3, and SMPN 4. The sample for this research was taken by representatives of class VII, VIII, and IX through the classroom random sampling for each grade level. Data collection uses a written test instrument of mathematical communication skills. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics which are visualized in the form of diagrams. The results showed that the highest average students’ mathematical communication ability was SMPN 2 with mean=82.768 and the lowest was SMPN 4 with mean=82.76. Based on the gender of the students (110 boys and 133 girls), the highest percentage of students’ mathematical communication ability with a maximum score=4 was achieved the same on the drawing indicator but there were more female students at 89.47% compared to male students at 87.27%. Based on school accreditation status, both schools with A and B accreditation status obtained a percentage of mathematical communication skills with a maximum score=4 on the drawing indicator but as much as 91.26% in schools with A accreditation compared to schools with B accreditation status of 85.47%.
