Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis) bacteria. World Health Organization has stated that the case has increased by almost 10 million worldwide in 2019 year-round. Tuberculosis may be treated using an antibiotic medicine. Unfortunately, 4,578 patients in Indonesia showed resistant symptoms for this first-lined medicine. A brand-new medicine is needed to treat tuberculosis disease more effectively. Complexes compound that could be used as an anti-tuberculosis agent has been studied as an alternative tuberculosis medicine precursor. Research about complexes Fe(II)Tyrosine synthesis has been conducted using the direct pressing method under molar reaction ratio 1:3 ethanol solvent. The synthesized complexes compound was characterized using UV-Visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometry, Fourier-Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, melting point test, and conductometry. Complex Fe(II)Tyrosine showed electronic transition at 513 nm contributes to π-π* electronic transition from metal-ligan interaction. FT-IR spectra showed absorption paths at wave number 352.97 cm−1 for v(M-O) area and 322.11 cm−1 for v(M-N) area. Characterization using UV-Vis spectrophotometry, FT-IR spectroscopy, melting point test, and conductometry showed that complexes Fe(II)Tyrosine had been successfully synthesized. In vitro study showed that Fe(II)Tyrosine has the potential as an anti-tuberculosis agent.
