At the present time, symmetric level inverters have some problems, such as large modulation ratio and many reactive elements. This paper presents a new inverter with a new modulation scheme. By improving the voltage value of the original single DC power supply, two expansion methods under the condition of voltage increase are obtained. In wiring, the application of auxiliary circuit is cancelled and the number of components is reduced. At the same time, it meets the necessary conditions of intelligent adjustment of components and voltage self-balancing. In terms of components, the new inverter this paper proposed can improve the output voltage and reduce the use of components. The resultant Symmetrical Cascaded HB (SCHB) inverter designed in this paper can normally adapt to single-stage AC/DC power conversion, and the output voltage can be increased proportionally. The new inverter proposed by us improves the existing problems of the original inverter and lays a foundation for further research and development.
