Renewable energy has gained popularity recently. Rapid population growth, modernization, and industrialization have boosted energy demand, signaling an energy crisis. In this context, researchers are studying energy harvesting from infrastructure, especially highways. The construction industry in Oman has not played a more effective role in alternative energy production. Roads squander a substantial amount of energy through solar, thermal, and mechanical energy. Electricity from indigenous energy would lower carbon pollution and the use of fossil fuels. This study explains road-based energy harvesting. Year-round sunshine graces Oman. This research analyzes the feasibility of installing solar roads in Oman. Solar panels have been engineered to act as a road surface. Oman’s existing road network was studied to determine solar highway viability. A quantitative cost-based study design and a questionnaire were also used. This study also used a qualitative approach. Due to the research’s technical nature, four solar project development experts were interviewed. The findings indicate that solar roads pay for themselves before they reach the end of their useful life and that this technology is possible to adopt in Wilayat Al Amerat, Oman.
