This research has been focused on the evaluation of COVID-19 impact on supply chain’s disturbances in the European Union (EU) manufacturing industry. Export and import dependences of the EU Member States have been analyzed in relation to non-EU countries of the Organization for economic cooperation and development (OECD). In addition, keeping in mind the recent geopolitical situation, the EU trade with BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) countries has been evaluated. Risks of disruptions in supply chain of the EU manufacturing companies have been identified by careful statistical data analysis and simulation by a developed panel data model. The paper comes out with guidelines which suggest how to rearrange the supply chain of the EU manufacturing companies and help them to stay flexible under unexpected changes of the environment.
