In this present study, effects of various input parameters on mechanical properties of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) components with and without electroplated Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) samples have been reviewed. Several approaches have been taken into consideration to optimize these parameters. Therefore, it is considered that a review of the various approaches developed will support in comparing their mechanical properties, and allowing selection of the most appropriate approach for a give n application. Various parameters such as print orientation, infill density, layer thickness, tensile speed, and compression speed have a key impact in getting the greatest results of tensile, compressive, and flexural strengths. Variations in voltage, current density, dipping time, and chemical solution composition have all been found to have a significant impact on quality of electroplated surface. For effective layer coating on the substrate’s surface, special attention must be paid on sharp edges and buried sections of the substrate. This research paper will give an insight about the effect of FDM machine control parameter on mechanical properties of the print components and selection of right parameters for printing of component for specific application.
