The article presents some examples of applying complex geochemical studies to determine the working intervals in multilayered deposits. Geochemical complex consists of bitumen-luminescence and pyrolysis (Rock-Eval) analyses of rocks, molecular analysis of extracts from rocks, analysis of hydrocarbon fluids for determination of main physical-chemical characteristics and molecular composition of different fractions. Using these methods, it becomes possible to solve problems related to refinement of oil-saturated intervals and to evaluate the contribution of several productive zones of multilayered field to the commingled production.
