The groundwater is the most precious fluid available beneath the ground surface. It should be free from impurities and other foreign matters; the quality of the groundwater depends on multiple factors like permeability of soil, rock characteristics and also the surface water. The Thirimanimutharuriver is flowing in Salem Corporation region. Sub-surface water qualities around the Salem Corporation are highly polluted; the contamination of the groundwater is effects by polluted river water. This paper deals with the characterization of ground water along the Thirimanimutharuriver region.
