The article considers the results of metallographic studies and tribotechnical tests during friction with a lubricant and abrasive wear. The microhardness of steels 65G and 45Kh significantly exceeded its values for the original and bulk heat-treated steels. A significant increase in the wear resistance of 45X steel was obtained compared to the original and hardened steel by 3.9 and 1.43 times, respectively. The abrasive resistance of 65G steel is 4.5 times higher than that of the base material.
