The concern for teaching and learning practices during the covid-19 was very high due to prolong lockdowns and government restrictions. The role of information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to maintain teaching and learning practices proved to be very high. Still, institutions were not ready to adopt ICT at that point in time. Also, there were no clear guidelines or framework to act on this sudden requirement. Literature is also unclear about the enablers felicitating the adoption of ICT in the education system. Hence, it becomes essential to understand the challenges and identify the various enablers capable of boosting the teaching and learning process during tough times like the pandemic or any other natural or man-made clematises (war-like situations). Therefore, this paper attempts to identify the key enablers (drivers) of ICT adoption in the education system with a focus on Higher Technical Education. The results advised working on the three enablers of the study, first is “Financial support to access the technology and infrastructure” second is “Training programs for felicitating the technology education and third is “Managing the cultural aspects towards technology”. It is advised that if stakeholders work on these three enablers, adopting ICT in technical education will become easy and flexible.
