A study on applying of the golden ratio and Fibonacci sequence tilings in sustainable fashion design is presented in the paper. Designs of women’s garments with the use of different types of golden section and Fibonacci series tilings are created for the realization of the research. There are presented designs and pattern making of ladies’ dresses and jackets with application of the golden triangle tiling, both Fibonacci series tiles with squares, Fibonacci sequence tiling with triangles. All golden ratio and Fibonacci sequence tiles can be applied in sustainable fashion design and pattern making as sustainable proportions and a way of minimizing cutting waste. The tilings can be used in whole or in part, directly or as frames of forming of other different shapes. If the tilings are used as frames of different types of designs, the shapes formed with straight lines are more effective for minimizing cutting waste. The designs, which are formed with straight lines minimize more cutting waste than curved shapes. The golden section and Fibonacci series tilings can be applied in only one and multi-colors combinations, which give possibilities of utilisation of small pieces of different fabrics. According to the basic design principles, the tiles can be situated in all design and constructional areas of clothes’ parts and in different harmonic proportional connections, as golden, Fibonacci and other ones, to the garment and human body.
