A composite material is a amalgamation of two or more constituent materials with diverse physical and chemical properties. In-situ composites are innovation of the high performance materials system, in which the reinforcements are produced by chemical reaction. AA6061-TiC composites are fabricated by reacting graphite and K2TiF6. The present study deals the optimization of the machining parameters during drilling of these composites. Spindle speed, rate of feed, reinforcement ratio are selected as experiment parameters while torque is selected as response to be examined. The experimental work is performed by using Taguchi L27 layout. Analysis of variance also accompanied for identifying the most significant parameter, which is affecting the response. This experimental investigation helps to minimize the torque without the affecting the rate of drilling.
