Passive cooling strategies react with local climate and site conditions to maximize the comfort and health of the users while minimizing energy consumption. Passive cooling strategies reduce the temperature inside the buildings without the need for electricity. Consequently, the aim of this study is to test the practicality of applying selected strategies to improve the energy consumption of governmental housing in UAE in the hot arid climate setting selected to be analyzed is Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The site analysis where have been taken from the software Climate Consultant Software. One Baseline design was selected to be improved by the passive cooling strategies that were applied. This baseline was taken from previous typologies. The passive cooling strategies were applied using the software Revit 2016 – by Autodesk. Energy reduction was achieved due to changing materials, orientation, natural ventilation, and shading devices. This research paper could achieve an improvement in energy consumption by 33% after using passive cooling strategies.
