Toxoplasma gondii can be detected by serological and genomic methods as well as associated risk factors like Il-10 among thalassemia patients and healthy groups. The research was conducted in the College of Science for Women, University of Babylon, Iraq, from October to December 2021. Approximately 66 samples from a major thalassemia patient and 30 control patients were included in the study. Anti-Toxoplasma antibodies were detected in serum samples using commercial Cobas e411 kits. T. gondii molecular testing in human blood using modern genetic techniques. The results reveled that Anti-Toxoplasma IgG antibodies were found to be positive in 20 of the 66 thalassemia patients but absolutely negative in 30 healthy controls. Genotypes distribution and allele frequency of wild type allele and mutant allele of SNP: rs1800871 C>T, OR values and p values for Toxoplasma with Thalassemia patients reveled three genotypes (TT, TC &CC), (32.5%,17.5%,50%) respectively and allele frequency of (T 41.25%, C 58.75%) respectively at patients and genotype (TT, TC &CC),(40%, 30%,30%) respectively and allele frequency (T 55%, C 45%), respectively for control group.
