The provision of green open space is an integral part of urban spatial planning. The city at a macro level is an ecosystem environment formed by the relationship between the elements of the abiotic, biotic and cultural environment, with physical, social and cultural, economic, and visual functions. The existence of green open space in urban areas acts to support the functioning of the city. In urban planning, it is hoped that a livable, self-identified, productive, and sustainable area will be realized. Green open space in urban areas, in particular, can function physically, ecologically, socially and culturally, economically, and aesthetically. Currently, the provision of green open space in Indonesia is based on a minimum area of 30% of the city area. Meanwhile, the heuristics of the pattern of providing green open space have not been widely reviewed, which are based on demand from urban areas – abiotic, biotic, and cultural – as well as taking into account climate change. This study examines modeling with a dynamic approach to the urban life cycle and pays attention to climate change as demand and, on the other hand, the provision of green open space as supply. Thus, from this research, a model – which can become a general pattern – provides green open space in urban areas that supports ecosystem balance and adapts to global climate change. Urban areas – abiotic, biotic, and cultural – that are developing dynamically require the support of the availability of suitable green open spaces that can realize the balance of the ecosystem.
