The aim of the study is to identify the fractured bone area from X Ray images using Laplacian method of edge detection and compared with CT scan images. The input images of X-Rays are collected from Kaggle.com. The sample size of 2 groups was 20. The data set contains bone fractures which are considered as an input image. The analysis of the Laplancianmethod efficiency and an outperforming rate compared with CT scan images in Fracture detection are done using MATLAB (2013) tool. Version 21 of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for the statistical analysis. A total of 20 samples were processed for the 2 groups for the better accurate detection of bone fracture using G power of 80%. The comparison of Laplacian method over CT scan images was done using an independent sample t-test using SPSS software. The efficiency appeared for Laplacian was 89.64% and when compared with CT scan was 83.75%. Significance was observed for the comparison of parameter efficiency through SPSS Version 2.1 and the efficiency of Laplancian was minimum (74.82 ± 5.29) and compared with CT scan images (61.52 ± 11.68). Independent sample test reveals statistical significance P value obtained as 0.004. The Laplacian algorithm has better efficiency when compared with CT scan images for fracture detection.
