The number of cities in the modern world is increasing at a tremendous rate. Due to the rapid urbanization and high concentration of the population, there is a need to form an order for the integrated sustainable development of urban areas, including solving the problems of their efficient energy supply. This task is of particular importance for smart cities. The article analyzes the distinctive features of the energy efficiency technologies being implemented today from the position of harmonization of the artificially created and natural environment in a smart city. The specifics of the integration of energy-efficient and IT technologies are considered. Proposals have been developed to improve the quality of this process.
