South Sumatera’s traditional dance is one of culture thats develops in the community without realizing it contains mathematical concepts in it. This research seeks to explore a mathematical concept in Gending Sriwijaya’s South Sumatera dance. The method used is a qualitative with ethnographic approach. The research data were collected through observation, documentation, literature studies, and interviews with Gending Sriwijaya’s creator Traditional Dance to know techniques variety of movement, historical, and philosophical values it. Gending Sriwijaya’s dance contains variations of motion variations obtained shows that there are mathematical concepts, namely: angle in all motions, position of the object in footwork and body motions, number pattern in footwork. Such as angle, measurement, transformation geometry, number pattern, rotational symmetry, cartesius coordinates.
