Recent results of BATSE reinforce the isotropic distribution of γ‐ray bursts. Alternatively to cosmological models we propose collisions between small‐mass primordial black holes and comets in the Oort cloud. Assuming typical Oort cloud densities and velocities for comets and primordial black holes, we can explain many of the observed properties of γ‐ray bursts.
