Nano crystals of stannous and stannic oxide were synthesized by cost effective reflux precipitation method. X ray diffraction (XRD) studies carried out on different samples have been studied and few exhibits the metastable state of SnO and SnO2 had double phase. Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) studies were performed for finding particle size, showed the range 2nm to 5nm.Photo Luminescence (PL) studies showed the emission at around 395 nm, 437 nm, 450nm and 468nm. Here it is to be mentioned that, TEM and PL all these analysis did not show any major difference between SnO and SnO2 and had similar results for every sample.
