One of the tasks of sustainable and efficient organic viticulture, along with the use of highly effective means of protection, is the selection of resistant varieties, taking into account the characteristics of the microclimate, microrelief and soil characteristics of the vineyard. The studied cultivar Citronny Magaracha is resistant to downy mildew Plasmopara viticola. Nevertheless, according to the results of two-year studies, in some years, under favorable weather conditions, the disease can develop according to the type of epiphytosis. So, in 2020, precipitation that fell during the growing season, exceeding the average annual indicators by 73.8 mm, provoked an outbreak of mildew in the control variant. The effectiveness of the use of certain drugs allowed in organic farming and schemes for protecting plants from mildew was evaluated. The studied preparations based on plant components and chitosan are less effective than the combined use of sulfur and copper; nevertheless, their use was sufficient to prevent plant defoliation under mildew epiphytotics. The obtained efficiency of drugs in the range of 62.1-76.3% allows us to recommend their use in combined schemes with copper-containing drugs for the organic protection of grapes and reducing the amount of copper introduced in the area of increased risk of epiphytotic pathogen development.
