Discrete Element Method (DEM) has found practical application in simulations of processes in many braches of science and technology, among others in biosystems engineering. Agriculture and food engineering harvests, stores, handles or processes an enormous amount of particulate material of biological origin. The paper presents short review of application of DEM to model the representative unit operations of soil tillage, crop harvesting, and post-harvest processing of agricultural materials.
