A Permanent Magnet BLDC motor is also called as electronically commutated motor and synchronous DC motors. The synchronous motor is powered by DC Supply via an inverter or SMPS (switching mode power supply). Inverter or SMPS produces the electricity (AC) that is used to drive each phase of the motor andEach phase of motor canbe control via a close-loop control system. The Inverter provides pulsating current to the motor windings that controls the speed and torque of the motor. The back emf produced by each phase of the motor is trapezoidal distributed. This paper presents Simulink based d -q modelling of BLDC motor. the model helps to analyse the behavior of d -axis and q – axis Current on the change in torque and Speed of motor in five phase BLDC motor. The five-phase reference frame is transferred orthogonally named as d, q, x, y,0 frame. The developed torque is obtained in d-q frame.
