The low ability to solve mathematical problems of Indonesian students based on the PISA survey shows that there is a need for innovation in managing learning. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the STEAM integrated Problem Based Learning model on student achievement in terms of parental assistance. This type of quantitative research with experimental design compares the control class with the experimental class conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Kradenan in learning mathematics. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. Data analysis in this study using two-way analysis of variance. After using the two-way ANOVA test, a further independent sample t-test and LSD test were carried out. The results of the analysis showed that there was an effect of the STEAM integrated Problem Based Learning learning model on student achievement (Fcount = 4.96 and significance 0.031). The average value of the conventional model is 62.00 and Problem Based Learning integrated with STEAM is 74.42. Thus the STEAM integrated Problem Based Learning method is better than the conventional model. In addition, there is an effect of the level of parental assistance on student achievement (Fcount of 11.311 with a significant value of 0.000). The results of the LSD test show that there is an average difference between levels of mentoring, the higher the level of parental assistance, the higher the student’s achievement. There is no interaction between the learning model and the level of parental assistance on student achievement.
