Dyes are essential factors in clothes or fabrics that are pleasing to the eye or not, including batik fabrics. Colour is also what makes people who see batik cloth become interested or not. Reporting from the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, the impact of using natural dyes on the economic development of batik craftsmen is a higher selling price. With natural colours, of course, the colours obtained in batik will look better. The benefits of natural dyes are a plus compared to synthetic dyes. In addition, natural dyes are easily obtained in the surrounding environment, and even craftsmen can grow their plants to be later used as natural dyes for batik. Not only giving influence in the economic field, but the use of natural dyes also affects the socio-cultural development of the community. Like, people can take advantage of raw materials that are around them. People can still protect the environment by not using chemical dyes. The fewer chemicals are used, the less waste is generated. As a result, damage to the surrounding environment is also reduced. On the development of research on natural dyes, there are still some shortcomings, such as still not being stable and easy to fade. To determine the feasibility of the natural ingredients of suji leaves. (Dracaena angustifolia) The research was carried out using the experimental method and the colour fastness test of the fabric. The result for the cloth rubbing test (wet) and the soap washing test (fastness) got a value of 4-5 or good, while for the soap washing test (staining), it is five or perfect. However, for the test results, sunlight is worth 1–2 (bad). We also investigated the extraction of water solvents with a ratio of distilled water and suji leaf 1: 4. The pigments were produced using fabric dyes with variations of fabric dyeing times of 5, 10, and 15 minutes. After colouring, the fabric variations were fixed with fixer solutions of FeSO4, Al2(SO4)3 and CaCO3. During this study, the best dyeing produced by cotton and silk fabrics was at 15 minutes of immersion with a fixer solution of feso4 produced by a spectrophotometer.
