An experimental study has been made for both Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) based mortar with the addition of graphene oxide separately. The powdered graphene oxide (GO) in different proportions (0.03% to 0.06% by weight of cement) was ultra-sonicated with the part of the required mixing water before addition to the mortar. The optimum percentage of 0.05% and 0.04% of GO addition was achieved for OPC and PPC based mortar respectively in terms of strength criteria at different ages. The enhancement in strength of GO based cement mortar may be due to the refinement of pore structure in the mortar matrix
