Indonesia has a coastline of 106,000 km with a potential land area of 1,060,000 ha. Coastal sandy land has enormous potential as a substitute for agricultural land. The complex problem of coastal sandy land is a limiting factor in agricultural cultivation, so it requires efficient cultivation technology and is based on local wisdom. One of the efforts to overcome sub-optimal land is land rehabilitation through the application of amelioration. The purpose of this study was to study watering and application of soil ameliorant to the yield and protein content of mung bean. Experiment with using a split plot with two factors. The first factor is the frequency of watering, consists of one day and three days. The second factor is soil improvement material, namely: without fertilizer, compost, cow manure, goat manure and chicken manure. Carbohydrate and protein of mung bean seeds was analyzed by Morgan Wolf, Spectrophotometer. The application of ameliorant on coastal sandy soil yield gives yield, carbohydrate and protein content higher than without ameliorant. The application of watering once a day gives yield, carbohydrate and protein content higher than watering every 3 days. Amelioran treatment and watering can improve the physical properties of coastal sandy land.
