Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs) are polymers that have cavities due to the release of template molecules. MIPs have a high degree of selectivity and sensitivity. The purpose of this study, produce MIPs as uric acid absorbents using the stober method, namely heating at certain temperature. Determination of uric acid levels absorbed by MIPs was analyzed by UV-Vis spectrophotometer, while for analysis of uric acid in blood using Easy Touch QCU. The results that MIPs were able to absorb uric acid which was analyzed by FTIR. The FTIR spectra showed the absorption peak of the N-H group of uric acid in the re-extraction MIPs at wavelength of 910-665 cm-1. While the extraction MIPs did not have an absorption peak of the N-H group. The spectra of the N-H group are the spectra of the uric acid functional group. At the optimum conditions (amount of MIPs 0.08 grams, absorption time of 24 hours and pH of uric acid solution 7.3), the efficiency of MIPs absorption against uric acid is 74.4%, while the efficiency of MIPs absorption in the blood is 16.9%. This indicates that the synthesized MIPs are able to absorb uric acid both in solution and in the blood.
