Natural rubber latex foam (NRLF) has attracted interest in latex studies due to its properties, qualities, and applications. A lot of literature has been published in this product with a focus on studies on aspects of physical and morphological properties, types of fillers and types of antibacterial use. Antibacterial substances are one of the important things in the production of NRLF so that the products produced do not cause negative effects on users. So it is necessary to make an effort to thoroughly study antibacterial substances in NRLF by collecting, summarizing, and comparing from various literature and making conclusions in the use of good antibacterial substances for the manufacture of natural rubber latex foam. The addition of silver nanoparticles to NRLF gave the best results compared to other nanoparticles such as ZnO and Ag-doped TiO2. Silver nanoparticles provide an even distribution of silver particles and high antimicrobial activity for Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria with an efficiency of 43.8% on E. coli and 25% on S. aureus bacteria with just only 0.2 pphr.
