Prosthetics involves the use of artificial limbs to enhance the function and lifestyle of persons with limb loss. Most of the prosthetic devices currently available are costly. A lot of research is happening in medical field in the area of prosthesis to make the prosthesis more effective as well as to reduce the cost. This paper focuses on the area of prosthetic arm. The arm is designed by considering anthropometric hand dimension data. The arm will be motor controlled and designed such that it will perform simple activities like lifting and holding objects.
