The main objective of the automatic vehicle cognizance identification is to recognize and store the registration number of the vehicles travelling on the roads. This project is an application of data science. The automatic vehicle cognizance identification system uses the concept of optical char- acter recognition and Yolo algorithm to read the characters on the vehicle number plate. This is used to recognize and store the vehicle registration number. It saves time to find whether a particular vehicle moved in a particular way or not by entering the vehicle number. Also, the insurance and fitness status of the vehicle crossing the roads can be found and either fine or charge sheet can be filed.
