The link and match between the development of human resource competencies and the needs in the world of work is one of the efforts that must exist. Yogyakarta State University is one of the leading universities in Indonesia that plays a role in improving human resources. This study aims to: 1) identify the competence of human resources in the field of civil engineering in accordance with the needs and regulations of the Government; and 2) revealing how much relevance there is between the competency unit of human resources in civil engineering and the curriculum for Civil Engineering and Planning Education, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University. This study uses a case study approach. The review of this study is the curriculum of Civil Engineering and Planning Education, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University. The aspect of review that is studied is the competency unit of skilled and expert human resources in the field of civil engineering. Data were collected through questionnaire and interview techniques. The results of the study show that 1) the competence of human resources in the field of civil engineering in the aspect of certificates of experts (SKA) and certificates of skilled workers (SKT) is needed and in accordance with Government regulations, including: Building Engineering Experts, Construction Management Experts, Young Road Engineers, Construction K3 Experts, Road Works Field Implementers, Quantity Surveyors, and K3 Supervisors; and 2) the relevance of the human resource competency unit in the field of civil engineering with the curriculum of Civil Engineering and Planning Education, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University by 65.625% with the majority of courses distributed including: Building Construction Management, Structural Analysis, Mechanics of Materials atau Construction Materials, Concrete Structure, Project Cost and Schedule Control atau Estimation, Costing and Valuation Engineering, Steel Structures, Timber Structures, Computer-Aided Design, Internship, Building Information Modelling, Health-Safety, and Environment in Civil Engineering, Concrete Workshop, Joinery Workshop, Road and Bridge Infrastructure Maintenance, Road and Bridge Constructions, and Soil Mechanics.
