The study deals with conditions of the specific fracture surface formation in a hard grain of the Ti-6Al alloy. It is shown that normal stresses in the hard grain basal plane can exceed critical stresses of the atomic plane breaking under certain external forces and a particular combination of the crystallographic orientation in adjacent grains. We analyzed the dependences of the maximum tangential and normal stresses on the number of dislocations in soft grain pile-ups, the misorientation angle of the adjacent grains, the distance from the grain boundary to the point, at which the stresses are determined.
