The Moodle LMS distance learning system, thanks to its open source code and wide capabilities, is popular all over the world, including in Russia. This article discusses the application of the add-on "Moodle Learning Analytics" (Analytics and machine learning) in the Moodle LMS when teaching students specialty "Rolling stock", significantly expanding its capabilities, providing a rich range of analytical data. The main features of this add-on are shown. Specific recommendations for setting up and operating "Moodle Learning Analytics" are given.
