This research aimed to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) e-worksheet on the hydrocarbon subject material in the experimental class in class XI of Science of Senior High School 1 Siak. This research was a pre-experimental research with one group pre-test post-test research design. The population in this research were all students of second year class of Senior High School 1 Siak. The research sample consisted of 38 students of class XI of Science 1 of Senior High School 1 Siak. The instrument used was an assessment of the quality of media and materials as well as an independent learning questionnaire with aspect of instrument there are independence, motivation, responsibility, and self-confident. Data analysis was conducted by using percentage technique, n-gain, and paired t-test. The results showed that the application of PBL e-worksheet on hydrocarbon subject material had a significant effect on students’ learning independence and to provide a learning resources promote student’s independence learning with hydrocarbon materials and can used anytime and anywhere.
