The writer is interested in conducting a literature evaluation because of the necessity of adopting instructional leadership in educational institutions. In school, instructional leadership plays a vital role in developing students’ potential quality and abilities in order to meet the changing problems of the times, particularly in education. Through the position of the teacher, instructional leadership is intended to promote the learning process in order to improve learning outcomes and the quality of learning for students. Principals can focus their priorities on reaching optimal student learning goals by using instructional leadership. The research method used is a literature study. The review process begins by searching for articles on Google scholar. The goal of this literature review is to determine how instructional leadership is implemented in Indonesia. The findings of this study show that instructional leadership is critical because it focuses on enhancing the quality of student learning by focusing on the teaching and learning process, student improvement, curriculum, and assessment.
