Today critical thinking is one of the main goals of formal education. However, there is no agreement on the most efficient efforts to improve critical thinking, especially for college students. This study aims to develop teaching materials based on Gambier products (Uncaria gambir Roxb.) to enhance students' critical thinking. This study is preliminary research that focuses on user analysis, including needs analysis and context analysis. To find out the characteristics of users by sending a questionnaire to potential users. Context analysis takes from research data in scientific journal articles. The analysis was descriptive qualitative, and the researcher decided to use andragogy learning principles. Indigenous science as study material for Gambir products includes the manufacturing process, chemical properties, and benefits of Gambier products. Teaching materials designed digitally to suit distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Problem Based Learning and Inquiry-Based Learning models are applied to support the achievement of students' critical thinking.
