This study aims to identify vulnerabilities and resilience of urban farming households, and to identify their adaptation mechanisms during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted in Kendari City, from August to October 2020, with a sample of 120 farmers. The method of data collection was done using direct interviews based on questionnaires. The data analysis used was descriptive qualitative analysis, livelihood vulnerability index, and multiple linear regression. The results showed that the livelihood vulnerability index was 0.488 which indicated that farmers in Kendari City during the COVID-19 pandemic had a fairly high vulnerability. Vulnerability is influenced by education level, income level from previous harvests, length of farming experience, and other dummy jobs. The adaptation strategy of farmers during the COVID-19 pandemic in maintaining their resilience is to shift the way of planting, change over from the use of inorganic materials to organic materials, and switch to other businesses.
