Minimizing the process of producing a product by considering appropriate design tools in the design process is very vital. Inappropriate design activities and tools during the development process will escalate the cost and development time of producing a product. Thus, this paper presents the development of a new conceptual spin grind dryer design using an integrated approach. Several design activities such as market survey, conceptual selection and concept development were conducted to develop a new conceptual design of spin grind dryer. Analytical hierarchy process (AHP), techniques for sequential preference sequence with equal to ideal solution (TOPSIS), and Design for Assembly (DFA) were used to determine and optimize the proposed new conceptual design. Four different conceptual designs were produced and the best conceptual design was determined using AHP and TOPSIS. The final design was carried out using DFA and the results showed that the design efficiency and operation time reduced to 12% and 20% respectively from the old conceptual design. This result showed the effectiveness of implementing several steps and tools in the development process to produce a high-quality product in the market.
