Smoking is considered as one of the most essential risk factors in cardiovascular disease and its related syndromes. Unlike abundant of previous studies which focus on smoking behaviors, this study will emphasize on the smoking-onset age and its relationship with myocardial infarction since the number of young smokers (especially males) increased sharply in these years. The logistic regression models (based on raw dataset and SMOTE improved dataset seperately) as well as poisson regression model is used to examine our hypothesis, and the result has shown that males with smoking-onset age before or equal to 15 are more susceptible to myocardial infarction. Thus, the study successfully connects the incidence of heart attack with genders and smoking-onset age, displaying the negative effect on male younger smokers.
