The Pronojiwo plant (Euchresta horsfieldii (Lesch.) Benn.) is well known as one of the Indonesian medicinal plants that has various health benefits. Pronojiwo grows in the highlands and is commonly found in Bali and NTB. Several researches using samples of Pronojiwo originating from Bali, proved them to have roles as antibacterial, antioxidant, and aphrodisiac. Unfortunately, this plant has been declared as a rare medicinal plant due to the limited distribution of habitat, low natural reproductive ability, and over-exploitation by the people. Pronojiwo plants are also found in Tawangmangu. The potential of Pronojiwo originating from Tawangmangu as medicinal plants has not been studied. This study will examine the presence of the bioactive compounds of the Pronojiwo plant, found in the Tawangmangu sub-district. Fresh samples of leaves and flowers were taken from two location at Tawangmangu. Samples were then extracted by the maceration method and qualitatively tested for alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, phenolics, saponins, steroids, and triterpenoids. The result shows that both Pronojiwo leaves and flowers contain alkaloids, tannis, flavonoid, phenolic acids, and saponin. In addition, some environmental parameters of the habitat were also observed.
