Beliefs, personality type, motivation, and problem-solving are essential aspects that influence mathematics success. Although these aspects are essential, there is still not much research that reveals how the impact of belief aspects on other essential aspects. This article reports on how belief impacts motivation and problem solving in students with different personality types. Subjects with different personalities are selected, then data is retrieved. Data were collected by conducting interviews based on problem-solving and motivation questionnaires. The interview transcription results are then analyzed for a conclusion. This study demonstrates that belief systems have a complex relationship with motivation and problem-solving implications based on personality types. For students with different personality types, the students' beliefs impact differences in motivation and problem-solving strategies that will be used. Introverts tend to use detailed strategies, whereas extroverts tend to use strategies that lack calculations in solving math problems.
