The Covid-19 Pandemic has shifted the majority of learning activities online. The learning paradigm, initially used in face-to-face settings, was converted for use in an online environment. The study aimed to elicit student perspectives about Cell Biology online learning from undergraduate students enrolled in Biology Education Program. A survey was administered to 70 students from multiple universities in East Java, Indonesia. The data presented are qualitative and include student responses to the survey questions. The survey results indicated that students were having trouble learning Cell Biology online. Students described how Cell Biology was a complex topic. Students encountered difficulty with the nucleus’ structure and function (31.9%), protein synthesis (29%), structure and function of the cytoskeleton (30.4%), and the concept of growth and proliferation (31.9%). These obstacles motivate students to seek instruction that incorporates investigative activities and in-depth discussions to help them grasp subjects. Additionally, students feel the need to study and summarize the information being learned to understand better the issues covered in Cell Biology.
