Tobacco is a plant of Nicotiana genus, parts of which are used in various commercial products all over the world. These products come in various forms-smoking tobacco, chewing form and sniffing form. Cigarettes, Biri and Hookah are most widely used forms of smoking tobacco and the composition and health effects of these forms have been discussed. Smoking tobacco further is of many types which have different compositions which can be analysed by using various tests and analytical techniques like TLC, GC-MS etc. Post analyzing the components, their risk assessment is what explains the amount of harm it is causing. Certain symptoms that are observed in the tobacco smokers are cancers, oral health hazards, respiratory infections.
