This study was aimed to to examine the level of high school students' motivation to learn chemistry in the covid-19 pandemic situation. Their motivation was measured from several aspects, namely aspects of attention, relevance, self-confidence, satisfaction, interest and caring. This research was a survey-research involved of 113 public high school students in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The technique of collecting data used a questionnaire with a Likert scale distributed through google forms. The instrument was analyzed for empirical validity and reliability using the QUEST program. 17 items were declared valid and reliable after being tested on 32 high school students with a Chronbach's Alpha value of 0.80 and had been theoretically validated by two experts of chemistry education lecturer. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive to measure percentage, mean score, and standard deviation of students' motivation. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the average of student learning motivation as a whole has good criteria with an average of 63.38. The average in the attention aspect is 63.23, the relevance aspect is 63.33, self-confidence is 63.42, satisfaction is 63.45, interest is 63.60, and on the caring aspect is 63.64. The known level of student motivation can help teachers to maintain or increase students' motivation to learn chemistry, and teachers should try to find out the causes that affect the motivation to learn chemistry and find solutions to increase students' motivation in learning so that they get better academic achievement in learning chemical field.
