The level of happiness in Indonesia is measured using the Happiness Index approach. However, the measurement of the level of happiness can also be done by using a single-item measure because happiness is also seen as a real thing that can be measured directly. This study utilizes a single measure of happiness approach to provide a new alternative in figuring the conditions of happiness in Indonesia and to describe its relationship to the evaluative characteristics that influence it. The data used in this study is the raw data for the 2017 BPS Statistics Indonesia Survey of Happiness Measurement. The analytical method used is ordinal logistic regression with an unconstrained partial proportional odds model to determine the effect of evaluative characteristics on the level of happiness. From the results of this study, two models of happiness were formed, namely, quite happy and very happy. In the quite happy model, the satisfaction towards social relations and satisfaction with environment was found to have no significant effect. While in the very happy model, the satisfaction with education and satisfaction with safety were found to have no significant effect. Overall, satisfaction with financial, satisfaction with family, feeling of pleasure, environmental mastery, and personal growth give the highest odds to be happy.
