Covid-19 has created unprecedented loss and disruption all across the world. It has impacted every section of human life, ranging from economical desperation to mental dissonance. While the economic impact of the pandemic is widely studied and reported on through the lens of conservative businesses, i.e. manufacturing, production and trading, the tourism sector suffers from the negligence of the researchers. This paper aims to assess the impact of Covid-19 on the tourism industry, especially in the local areas of Uttarakhand, India. Using survey data on the economical variance across different sectors of tourism, this study provides the assessment of monetary lost and the methodological steps that may be taken to revive the local tourism sector.
