Fibre-reinforced metal laminates (FML) are hybrid composites fabricated by alternate thin layers of metal sheets and fibre-reinforced epoxy prepreg. This paper deals with a new kind of FML fabricated using coir fabric alternately with Aluminium 2024-T3.The laminate was prepared by hand lay-up technique and the composite was cured at room temperature. Ballistic evaluation of the material is performed on the basis of projectile impact experimental study conducted using conventional weapons like MP-5 and AK 47.The impact velocities varied between 150 m/s and 710 m/s and the projectile rounds varied between 0.38” to 7.62 mm. The target response was observed as highly localised due to the high velocity of impact.
